9 days to go...
A lot of fans don’t realize how much prep goes into a tour. It’s not just about getting the musicians together, rehearsing the music, having the right musical instruments, and knowing what to play. True, all of that is important, but there is so much more that goes into a tour.
For Future Boy there is a lot of coordination that must take place to make sure the tour goes smoothly. Session musicians have to be flown in from America (and this time one of the musicians is coming from Italy!). The tour bus has to be arranged for. You have to make sure you know who is going to be on the bus, how many beds you need, where you need the bus to be, on what day and at what time, how far you have to travel, what supplies (food, etc) you need on the bus. In order for the band to be able to offer great merchandise at each show for the fans to buy at good prices, careful research and planning has to go into designing items, finding the right supplier and ordering them with plenty of time for them to be delivered.
For this tour, Future Boy has gone above and beyond the usual prep. A special VIP meet & greet was planned for each stop with keepsake lanyards being produced so participants have something to remember the visit by. Future boy went to the effort of recording a Volume 2 song early, so it would be ready for preview performances on the tour. Promo items were produced to be given for free to the die-hard fans who show up early. A lot of effort has gone into this tour already and no one has even set foot in a venue yet!
There is still quite a bit of prep to go. With 9 days to go everyone involved has mixed feelings. We’re excited for the tour, for sure! But at the same time, we kind of wish we had a little more time to get prepared. This is always the case, though. And the show must go on. So, roll on October! We’re ready for you!
