Day 3 - Glasgow - Rest Day

Tumblr Archive

After the craziness of the bus breakdown and changeover, we all were looking forward to just getting some rest. We pulled up to the hotel in Glasgow in good time considering the bus situation.

We got our rooms and were able to take nice long hot showers (a luxury on tour!), have some room service, and finally get some much needed rest.

Everyone woke up refreshed and looking for something to do during this rest day in Scotland. After speaking to the members of City Stereo (www.myspace.com/citystereo) and finding out that they were only a few minutes away, we arranged to meet them for drinks in the hotel bar.

Everyone sat around and talked about the tour so far, how they felt their performances had been, how the audience reactions were. There was talk of the few little technical glitches that had been experienced so far and discussion on how to prevent those in the future. Some jokes were exchanges and funny stories from the start of the tour. The mood was a jovial one and there was lots of laughter all around the table.

After hanging in the bar for a little while, everyone decided to go out and check out Glasgow and see what there was to do. It was getting a bit late and after waiting for what seemed like forever (over 30 minutes) for the taxis we called to arrive, we decided to go grab a few drinks and hang out in the hotel instead. A taxi took James, Nick, Ben and Team Future Boy’s Teresa, to the nearest supermarket where the intention was to buy beer. It wasn’t until we got in the store that we were informed that liquor was not sold after 10pm in Scotland. Basically we had made the journey for nothing. Not wanting to waste the journey entirely, James decided to moonwalk on the slippery floor, which made for a fun video captured by one of the City Stereo guys on their phone. Then it was time to head back tot eh hotel and tell the others that the beer was a no-go.

Back at the hotel we hung out in the lounge area for a little while until some guys started asking James to sing for them which was a little awkward considering how late it was and how tired James was. We all retreated to a room to hang out. James played some of his songs that have been recorded and never released, and the City Stereo boys told us a little bit about their band, how they got started, what they were up to, and how they got on the Twenty Twenty Fanttastic Tour.

It was starting to get late and it was time to call it a night. Everyone wanted to rest to be ready for the first show in Scotland!
