Day 4 - Glasgow - The Garage
Despite the fun hang late last night, we were still able to get up in time to pack our things and check out of the hotel by the 11am check-out time. James signed some t-shirts for the desk clerks and gave them a few tickets to the show. Then it was on our way to the venue, The Garage, in Glasgow.
Parking the bus was a bit of a tricky situation as there was a steep-grade hill leading up to the back of the venue, where we were meant to park, which was too much of a challenge for the bus. We had to go the long way around, but we eventually made it. Oh the challenges you never consider when booking a tour bus!
We loaded in the gear and then, it was lunch time. That means only one thing to James…WAGAMAMA!! We walked the 15 minute walk to Wagamama and had noodles for lunch. Yummy!
After lunch the group split in half and went in different directions. The band and the tour manager (Craig) caught a taxi to the music store on the other side of town to try and get James some in-ear monitors. The rest of the group, including “merch master” NickyB789 (on Twitter) headed back to the bus on foot, stopping at a bakery on the way to buy some cupcakes.
Once everyone was back at the venue it was time to do a soundcheck. The venue was fairly empty during the check and it seemed to go quicker than normal. The venue staff at The Garage were amazingly professional and efficient!

Sound check
After the sound check it was back to the bus for a little bit of rest and relaxation. James did what he does a lot on tour when he isn’t performing: he slept.
The time seemed to pass quickly and everyone was soon running around getting things ready for the show. The other openers, City Stereo and Octane OK went on and performed without a hitch. While James waited for his turn on stage, he played a piano backstage.

Backstage
Finally, it was time for Future Boy to take the stage! James took the stage, greeted the audience, and then the performance was underway. Everything started out well, and James was full of energy!

Greeting the crowd.

At one point, during the performance of “Space Travellers” James got a little carried away and ran in front of the audience…

and as he ran in front of the crowd he sprayed his bottle of water all over the place!

The crowd loved the interaction and cheered as James ran back up on stage.
While all of this was going on the whole Future Boy set was being broadcast live on Justin.tv (www.justin.tv/jbfutureboy) so Future Boy fans all over the world could watch the show even if they couldn’t make it to the concert in person.

The set ended with “Battery” the new Future Boy song which is set to be released on iTunes on January 3. Then it was time to step aside and let Twenty Twenty take the stage.
After the show was over, James had a meet & greet on the bus as he had at the previous shows and got to meet some really cool fans. He signed some merch new and old (yes, even some Busted & Son Of Dork items!), answered questions, posed for pictures and even gave out some hugs. Eventually, all of the Meet & Greet fans made their way home.
Before departing Glasgow, some of the Future Boy crew went back into the venue (which turns into a nightclub after curfew) with some of the City Stereo guys to party for a bit.
It was late into the night and very early in the morning when the Future Boy bus finally pulled away and headed for Aberdeen.
