We need more entries!

On May 21, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Tree

UPDATE ON THE CONTEST!! Right now it is still really easy to win the contest https://teamfutureboy.com/2010/05/street-team-contest-contest-mission-1/ as no entrant has submitted more than 5 points! Five points is ridiculously easy to achieve! Here at the street team, we LOVE that so many people are willing to post one or two links on the internet, but it will only take a little more than that, right now, to win the prize! Could you really forgive yourself if you missed the opportunity to win a brand new silver 8GB iPod when all you have to do is type a few lines on the computer?!? You don’t have to buy anything. You don’t have to sell anything. All you have to do is go out on the internet, on the sites you already go to, talk to the people you already talk to and post simple links and banners. It’s really easy!  Verification is easy too! For example, if you posted your link on the TeamFutureBoy myspace page then you would just send us an email that says: “text link  on www.myspace.com/TeamFutureBoy”  That’s it! Every time you post a link or a banner, just send us another email and tell us where to find that link or banner so we can verify it is there! Don’t let that iPod get away!

Calling all street team members, James Bourne fans, and people who want to help Future Boy!!

The official Team Future Boy Contest Mission #1 begins NOW!

THE CONTEST MISSION (#1)

For our very first Team Future Boy competition, the mission is simple. We need to get the word out about the future boy album (side A and Side B).  How do we do that? We post links to the download page (www.thefutureboy.com) in as many places as possible!  The team member who accumulates the most points in the contest period will win the prize! The contest begins NOW and will run until Midnight, Monday, May 24, 2010. A winner will be announced no later than Friday, May 28, 2010.

Each posting will be assigned a point value as follows:

=============================================

www.thefutureboy.com
text only hyperlink = 1 point

=============================================

Click here to go to www.thefutureboy.com
text style picture with link = 2 points

=============================================

Click here to go to the official Future Boy website
Official Mini Banner with link = 3 points

===============================================

Team members will be awarded the above points only once for each unique source. For example, a “tweet” on Twitter with the text only link will be awarded 1 point. Multiple tweets will NOT score additional points, even if they are directed toward different users. The idea is NOT to spam, but to spread the word in as many places as possible. It’s better to share the link, or linked images, with people who will actually want to see them and will want to click through. Good places to share the link include music bulletin boards, music related groups on Facebook or Myspace, the comments section on newspapers or magazines that have posted articles about James Bourne as an individual, or about any of his past or present projects (Busted, Son of Dork, Loserville the Musical, Call Me When I’m 18,  and of course, Future Boy). It is best to find fans of James or of his other projects as they will most likely be interested in hearing about Future Boy. If you encounter people who are not already James Bourne fans but you know they like similar music, then this is also a perfect candidate for information and links to the Future Boy website. Get creative, get out there and talk to other music lovers. Spread the word and have fun!

Bonus points: There are few things you can do that will earn you additional bonus points. They are as follows:

Twitter: When you tweet the text only link, you will receive 1 addition point per retweet by other users of your original message. A retweet must come from an established Twitter account to be counted. An established Twitter account must have at least 10 followers, must have at least 30 tweets, and must be older than 1 month (based on the date of the oldest tweet)

Tumblr: When you post a text or picture link (as detailed above) to your Tumblr.com blog, you will receive additional points for each reblog of your post by other users. Your additional points will be equivalent to the original points awarded. For example for each reblog of a text only link, you will receive an additional 1 point. For each reblog of an Official photo with link you will receive an additional 3 points. As with the Twitter bonus points, the Tumblr bonus is only awarded for reblogs from established Tumblr accounts. An established Tumblr account has 10 or more followers, and must include at least 10 non-repeating posts.

Tumblr: (option 2) Create a Tumblr blog at Tumblr.com with a Future Boy related wallpaper and/or name and in the info section post the link to the Official Future Boy website PLUS have the link appear as a post. Get just 5 followers and receive an additional 5 points.

Facebook: Create a Future Boy fan page with the link to www.thefutureboy.com clearly posted on the main page AND as a comment in the “wall” section. Gather at least 10 members for the fan page and you will receive 5 points.

Myspace: Create a Future Boy fan page with the link to www.thefutureboy.com clearly posted on the main page AND as a comment in the “comments” section. Gather at least 10 members for the fan page and you will receive 5 points.

Email: Email Scott Mills at scott.mills@bbc.co.uk and ask him to play Future Boy on his BBC Radio 1 show. For each email from a unique email address you will receive 1 point. Emails sent from your friends and family WILL count as long as they BCC [email deleted due to SPAM being received] -or- if the email is forwarded to that email address from their “Sent” folder after it has been sent.

Additional bonus point opportunities may be added. Bonus points are at the discretion of the judges. All bonus point decisions are FINAL and not open to discussion.

Point verification:

In order for points to be counted and verified, each contest participant must submit their activities to the team email address ([email deleted due to SPAM received]) by submitting links to the pages that the contest entries appear on. Point verification emails should be sent with the subject line: FUTURE BOY CONTEST #1.  In the case of protected Twitter accounts or private Facebook or Myspace pages, a screenshot will be acceptable as long as it clearly shows the point earning post and the source page in full (you should not just zoom in on the post. It should be obvious, from the screen capture, what kind of website the post appears on). Screenshots will only be accepted for a maximum of 4 items. All other point earning items must be on public viewable websites and links.

Posts may be verified at any time and may be re-verified. Any posted deleted at any time during the contest will NOT receive points.

Judges will NOT give a running tally of points or point updates during the contest period. Point totals will NOT be made public.

THE PRIZE: One new 8GB iPod Nano!  (a specific color can NOT be guaranteed.)
iPod Nano - Silver

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has emailed Scott Mills already to ask him to play Future Boy on his BBC Radio 1 show. Please keep up the good work by asking all of your friends and family to send emails as well. It only takes a minute to do, it’s free, and best of all, it helps to spread the word about Future Boy!

If you have already sent an email to Scott Mills today, please wait a day or two to send another email to him (no more than one email a day please. We want to be persistent, but we don’t want to SPAM him. Sending a daily request to a radio show is not unheard of, but more than that might be considered a nuisance). While you are waiting to email Scott again, you can send another email to any (or all!) of the BBC Radio 1 DJs listed below and ask them to play Future Boy as well!

Chris Moyles

Fearne Cotton

Greg James

Edith Bowman

Vernon Kay

Team Future Boy Mission

On May 12, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Tree

Let’s get BBC Radio 1 to play Future Boy! Please take a moment to email Scott Mills at scott.mills@bbc.co.uk and ask him to play Future Boy on BBC Radio 1!

We would like to carry out a campaign to eventually get more BBC radio DJs to play Future Boy music, but we need to start strong by focusing on just one DJ for now.

Why Scott Mills? Well, we chose Scott Mills since he was the DJ that risked getting into trouble by trying to play the entire Busted album on Radio 1! He managed to get through 5 songs before he was made to stop. We think if anyone at Radio 1 could make sure Future Boy gets some songs played, it is Scott Mills! Besides, we love Scott Mills! 🙂

Don’t worry if you don’t live in England. Radio 1 is broadcast on satellite radio worldwide and clips are featured on the internet. Anyone, anywhere, can request music for Radio 1.

Please get your friends and family to send an email to Scott too!

Don’t spam! One email per email address is sufficient. We want them to see lots of different email addresses and lots of different people sending in the requests!

Let’s make it happen!

June 3rd – SPREAD THE WORD

On May 10, 2010, in Uncategorized, by Tree
Future Boy has asked us to spread the word about June 3rd! Could it be that we don’t have to wait too long for Volume 1, Side B of the Future Boy debut album to be released?! This, of course, is purely speculation, but it looks like more Future Boy music is headed our way very soon!

Remember to spread the word!
